Greetings Friends,

We are still not up to doing the regular interactive newsletter. Had a big setbact at the end of April. I suffered a heart attack situation and was hospitalized for 4 days. I'm back home and back on the grind. So I wanted to get out the word to you about some up and coming performance opportunities and programs.

Sorry but submission to be considered for the entertainment lineup of the 14th Annual Juneteenth Heritage Festival on June 17th in Anniston, AL. are closed. You can, however, apply for a Vendor space. See the Vendor Guidelines and Application info at
http://www.juneteenthanniston.homestead.com

Industry Conferences: This is conference season. There are a cluster of conferences from now until October. We have focused on the one's down South where we are but there are many others around the country. Check our website where the Home Page has banners and links to conferences in Missippi, Florida, Georgia and Texas this Summer. This is the best place to meet and talk with both music industry power brokers and other independent artists having success with their careers. Most conferences have a showcase opportunity for you also. You should be checking the Bama Hip Hop website on your own at least twice a month as we are always posting new info.
http://www.bamahiphop.homestead.com

To look for more confernences check out
http://www.musicregistry.com .

Let's not forget the showcases and open mics. Yung Joc was discovered and signed based on his performances at the Royal Peacock in Atlanta this year at their "Almost Famous" open mic showcase. I have posted that venue event flyer (yes, the showcase is still happening) and many new ones on the "Party & Perform" page of Bama Hip Hop including one for producers to show their skills and an Urban Idol show (don't waste time getting to this one, auditions are May 20th for a June starting date). http://www.bamahiphop.homestead.com/party.html

Speaking of all you producers on the comeup out there. The Scion car company is holding a beatmakers contest from now throught the end of June. The info is too long to include in this message but if you are interested email me with the Subject line "Scion Contest Info" at bamahiphop@yahoo.com.
