WHO CAN BE IN IT?:

Any unsigned, independent, undistributed artists who are not under contract with any major record label or distribution company deal is a contender. Age 18 and up are eligible.

HOW WE DOING IT?:

There will be independent judges who will select a Grand Champion who will be promoted as the "Champion Of The Open Mic 2006" and their top 10 overall picks for the compilation CD.

All songs performed must be A FULL SONG of original material--2 SONGS within 8 minutes-- no samples, no covers, no mix edits. Hip Hop, Rap, R&B music--one continuous song. Songs for the compilation CD must have copyright registration form as proof you own it.

A performance must be original songs over music tracks --NO PRE-RECORDED LEAD VOCALS. Pre-recorded hooks or chorus are acceptible. We want to hear you, not your CD.

There must be a SEPERATE registration for each artist or act performing. Labels cannot put all their people up under one registration. No person may appear on stage or on the mic more than once during the program (no guest features who want to come back later and do their own song, too.).

Date of the contest is Saturday, April 8th, 2006 at Club Millenium Players Ball & Picnic in Tuskegee, AL. in the afternoon. Winner must have a radio-friendly edit of their song for performance on television and radio airplay when that appearance takes place.
