DEF BOYZ R WE MONTGOMERY, AL.
Free your mind and prepare to travel through the imaginative and musical dimension of CT RECORDS recording artists DEF BOYZ R WE. Skyrocketing onto the rap music scene is the new flavor in Southern hip-hop, bassed up, funk with an East Coast twang. Since their formation in 1990, the group has performed with some of the hottests acts in the business: Bone Thugs-N-Harmony, Raheem the Dream, Lil John and the East Side Boyz, Kilo, H-Town, Usher, SWV and Preesha just to name a few.
Prior to securing a record contract with CT RECORDS, Alabama native Yuri Manuel (EQUAM) and California born Yamarcus (Spughetti) and Yumeitrius (Meitball) Manual used to be affiliated with a group callled 4 PLAY which was headed by Scotti Brothers recording artist 12 GAUGE . Being brothers give them an edge over most groups. Being sons of a military father, they have traveled a lot which made them learn to handle different situations. Starting out as dancers they crossed over to rapping. All three brothers learned to read and write music throughout their school years and can play live instruments, such as the trumpet, saxophone and trombone. Their on stage dance moves and hot lyrics have earned them the nickname "Hot Bodies of Hip Hop" with some women fans.
Releases include the uptempo dance anthem "It's Party Time" and "Raise The Roof". Their most recent release, last summer, was "Smiling Faces".
Recent scheduled appearances around the state included the Birmingham Heritage Festival, Juneteenth Heritage Festival in Anniston, Al, and Jacksonville State University. For bookings contact: Chrys Thompson, CT RECORDS, 334-288-1785. 2/5/00
