
Sony Urban Music Emerging Talent Showcase Series-Alabama
Applicants need not be a member of any union such as AFTRA, SAG, Actors Equity, or AGMA. Members, as well as non-members, of such unions are welcome to apply. Applicants must be a legal U.S. Resident and eligible to work in the United States.
Applicants must not be candidates for public office at the time of application, and if an applicant is selected as a top showcase performer, that applicant must agree not to become a candidate for public office until after the showcase in August 2004.
Employees, officers, vice-presidents, directors, consultants, and agents of INO Corp., Gigamerica, Sony Music and/or any of their respective licensees, assigns, parents, affiliated and subsidiary companies and the immediate family (spouse or spousal equivalent, mother, father, sister, brother, daughter or son, regardless of where they live) or members of the same households (whether related or not) of such employees, officers, vice-presidents, directors, consultants, and agents are not eligible to compete in Sony Music Showcase or participate in the application process.
There is no minimum or maximum age requirement to be an applicant for the Music Showcase. Any applicants who are 18 yrs. or younger, his/her application must be signed by a parent or legal guardian. Any applicant 18 yrs. or younger must be accompanied to his/her audition by a parent or legal guardian.
There is a $30.00 application/registration fee for an audition for the Music Showcase and an application must be submitted in order to audition. Absolutely no walk-ups. Registration covers the following material: A two (2) minute audition, and free admission to one of two music workshops being offered at a later date following the Showcase.
AN AUDITION DOES NOT GUARANTEE ANY PARTICIPANT A SPOT IN THE FINAL SHOWCASE!!!
Each audition is limited to two (2) minutes ONLY. If an audition needs CD music accompaniment, the CD must be a two (2) minute instrumental splice on the CD only! There will be no instruments allowed! Applicants may not audition for more than one genre of music.
Once audition times are issued, those times are non-transferable or non-exchangeable and may not be rescheduled. Applicant understands and agrees that application fees and/or any submitted information, tapes and CDs can not be returned and/or may be distributed to INO, Corp., Gigamerica and Sony Urban Music personnel, sponsors, record companies and related Industry personnel for listening and evaluation purposes. Applicant also understands and hereby gives permission to the producers of the Sony Urban/GigAmerica Showcase Series to videotape my audition for the sole purpose of the Showcase selection process.
Each applicant will be scored in three (3) areas by the judges during preliminary auditions. Those areas include: 1.) Voice quality (talent), 2.) Showmanship (stage presence, presentation, and personality), 3.) Image Appeal (Dress, Originality)
INO Producers and/or judges reserve the right to be able to cancel any audition for the purpose of derogatory language and/or offensive routines.
The Sony Music Showcase Producers reserve the right to change any of the eligibility requirements at any time. The Producers also reserve the right to not hold auditions, or to modify the manner in which it conducts auditions, or not to produce the Sony Music Showcase at all.
